Aims We aim to teach children and adults to educated, intelligent, riders with
a thorough understanding of horse and pony care.
Many of our students progress to competitive riding or to owning their
own horse
Lessons Students are grouped according to their ability and confidence. during
each lesson riders will undertake a series of exercises to learn and practice
the basic points of riding technique, including application of aids (signals
to the horse), balance and position and sensitivity to the horse. There
is a maximum of 8 students per class
Lunge Lessons This is an intensive, individual, lesson where the instructor controls
the horse through a long rein. This allows the rider to focus solely on
establishing the correct position in the saddle
Safety Riding is a risk sport and consequently safety must be a primary consideration
at all times for Brocks Farm staff and our students. Lessons will be disciplined
and structured and correct equipment always used. We recommend that all
ridings take out personal accident insurance
Confidence We want all our students to be confident riders and, consequently, both
children and adults are allowed to progress at their own speed. Every rider
is encouraged to achieve as much as her or she can, but always in a safe
and structured way
Children We accept children from age 4. They will start with half hour lead rein
lessons before progressing to lunge and class lessons
